- 1). Turn off the power to the room you will be working in by turning off the circuit for the room in your beaker box.
- 2). Decide if you will need new switches for the pendant lights. A dimmer switch is typically used for pendant lighting to adjust the level of the light.
- 3). Remove the old switch from the wall and disconnect the electrical wires.
- 4). Connect the new dimmer switch to the electrical wires and use a screwdriver to secure it to the wall.
- 5). Remove the existing fixture in the ceiling to expose the electrical box and the existing wiring.
- 6). Disconnect the electrical wiring from the old fixture.
- 7). Make the connections for the new pendant light to the electrical box. Use twist-on wire connectors to join white wire to white wire, black wire to black wire and bare copper ground to bare copper ground.
- 8). Attach the fixture to the ceiling using screws that were included with the pendant light.
- 9). Turn the circuit for the room back on from the breaker box and test the light to make sure it works.
