- 1). Mount the motor onto the rear of the Jon Boat, making sure it is secure. Make sure you are on land and that the boat is secured when you perform these steps.
- 2). Use a socket wrench to connect the motor's positive cable to the 12-V battery. Make sure you connect the positive cable first. Depending on whether you have a standard or deluxe Jon Boat, you may need to remove a wing nut before removing the positive cable.
- 3). Use a socket wrench to connect the negative cable to the battery. Remove the wing nut if equipped.
