- If you're not a designer or you're in a hurry to create a presentation, use presentation templates to save time. PowerPoint 2007 comes with several templates you can use immediately. The template becomes your "master slide," and the design is added automatically whenever you create a new slide. If you don't like the preset templates, you can always look for more using the Microsoft Office Online resources.
- An easy way to modify and enhance texts in PowerPoint 2007 is to use WordArt. WordArt is a text plug-in that you can find in the Insert tab of PowerPoint 2007, and it creates a text box that you can manipulate in several ways. Add shadows, outlines and shape effects to any text and choose from the preset designs or create your own.
- Adding animations to images and texts can make your presentation more interesting and engaging. It also can help your presentation style because you can delay the appearance of text or images while you discuss important points. To add animations to a text or an image, go to the "Animations" tab located on the PowerPoint 2007 menu and look for the "Custom Animation" button. A small window will appear on the right side panel of your PowerPoint 2007 window, which allows you to add animations to any text or image. Basic animation effects include entrance and exit animation, as well as emphasis and motion paths.
- PowerPoint 2007 also lets you add video and audio files. To do this, go to the "Insert" tab on the PowerPoint 2007 menu and look for the "Media Clips" tab. Adding video and audio to your presentation will make it a large file, so be sure that these additions add value to your presentation. As with text and images, you can designate when the video or audio file will start playing and end.
