- 1). Open a Web browser and go to one of the speed test sites linked in Resources.
- 2). Select the server location that is closest to you if given the option.
- 3). Click "Start Test" or "Begin." The server then sends and receives files to and from your computer, ranking its speed based on how long the transfers took.
