- 1). Put on your goggles, leather gloves and apron. The apron may not be necessary if you are working with a small piece of fiberglass, but it will protect your clothing and help keep you from getting dirty.
- 2). Cut a small piece of fiberglass from the material you are going to work with using your coping saw. This will serve as a test piece for setting your sandblaster. You might want to cut a few pieces.
- 3). Turn on your sandblaster. You want to make sure your sandblaster has variable controls so you can adjust the rate and pressure of the sand.
- 4). Blast your test piece of fiberglass and adjust the settings on your sandblaster until you get a result with which you are happy. You don't want the sand to penetrate deeply or it may weaken the fiberglass.
- 5). Sandblast your fiberglass using a smooth, side-to-side motion while moving downward. You want to keep the sandblaster moving so that you get an even texture on your fiberglass. Continue until you are happy with the depth and amount of texture on your fiberglass.
