- 1). Park your Monte Carlo and turn the engine off.
- 2). Push the driver's seat back to its furthest setting. Open the driver's side door and leave it open. This will help create room for you to work in.
- 3). Look up under the dash on the left side of the steering column. You will see a small silver or black cylinder, about 2 inches round and tall, plugged into a black socket that is wired into your electrical harness. This is the flasher relay.
- 4). Grab the socket with one hand and the relay with the other and pull them apart. Do not grab the socket by the wires or you can break the internal connection in the socket. Remove the flasher from underneath the dash.
- 5). Plug your new flasher into the socket by lining up the prongs on the flasher relay unit with the slots in the socket and pushing them together.
