- Your email or fax program’s outbox queue is listed within the program’s folder listing along with the “Inbox,” “Sent,” “Archive” and any personal folders you have created. The queue's name is "Outbox" or similar wording. You may or may not be able to change the outbox queue’s folder name or delete the folder. In some email and fax programs, the outbox queue is also listed on the program's main toolbar.
- Click or double click the outbox queue’s name to open the folder and see its content. You may see one or more messages waiting to be sent from the queue or you may see nothing in the folder. Click on a message, if one is present, to access the outgoing message. You may receive an error if your email or fax program is in the process of sending the message -- the message may state that the program is attempting to send the message and access is denied.
- After a message is sent from the outbox queue, a copy of the message is moved to the “Sent” or “Archive” folder, if you have specified that action within the email or fax program’s settings. Otherwise the sent message disappears from your email or fax program.
- Your email or fax program makes every attempt possible to send all messages, but ones that exceed your Internet server’s outgoing message size will not be sent. You must access the outbox message, by following the steps in the "Accessing" section, and reduce the message’s size by eliminating words or removing attachments. Message size limits are also in place on the recipient’s server but these limits do not cause a message to be stuck in your email or fax program’s outbox queue. The large message will be returned to you as undeliverable. A stuck message containing faulty elements, including pictures and videos, requires you to remove the element that is causing a problem and resend the message. You will have to open each element in the message to see which one is causing a problem error or not opening properly.
