Blogging is a rewarding experience when you have an audience who reads and appreciates your posts.
That's why bloggers are always looking for more traffic.
There are a few small changes you can make to start increasing your blog traffic.
Here are a few little tweaks you can make right away: 1.
Move your RSS sign up button up above the first fold.
Of course this is assuming you have an RSS signup button on your blog.
If you don't, add one and make sure to put it within the first fold.
That way, when someone is enjoying your blog and wants to subscribe they won't have to hunt for the RSS feed.
Make it clear and easy to see.
2.
Allow email opt-ins to your RSS Feed.
There are a lot of people out there who do not understand how or why they should subscribe to an RSS feed but popping in their email address is something they completely understand.
My subscription rate jumped up when I did this, grated it's very small right now but it doubled when I added the email opt-in.
3.
Post often and be consistent.
I remember hearing somewhere a while ago that you shouldn't post to your blog too often or people will get sick of hearing from you.
That makes no sense at all! If your readers are coming back for more and they don't find new posts they will be disappointed.
If they happen to find you are posting more then they want to read no big deal, they'll just come back alter.
4.
Play off current popular trends.
When you talk about a hot topic and relate it to your blog and your business you could get more traffic coming through.
Just make sure the trends fit with your blog.
There's no point blogging about Paris Hilton if your blog is all about picture framing.
5.
Reply to comments on your blog.
When I go to a blog and the person who owns the blog actually responds to people's comments I'm more encouraged to post because I know I have a clear path to communicating with them.
6.
Add pictures.
Pictures add personality to your posts.
Pictures of people's faces also tend to catch attention better than inanimate objects.
You can buy stock images for just a dollar or two online and there are also stock image websites that offer free images.
You can also make your own graphics if you are so inclined.
Just be sure to dress up your blog posts a bit.
7.
Make your text easy to read.
It's important to remember good copywriting when you are writing on your blog as well.
Adding in some bolding, italics and underlining when appropriate is a great way to keep interest.
8.
Add your signature One time there was a lady subscribed to my blog feed who said she loves my blog and has it on her feed reader but she didn't realize that it was MY blog.
She didn't connect my name to the 'face' of my blog since it only shows up in her feed reader.
From then on I added a signature to all my blog posts so that anyone reading them, anywhere, knows who wrote it! These eight tips will help you add personality, interest and stickiness to your blog.
To keep a blog busy and interesting always be keeping an eye out for what your readers find engaging and give them more.
