The Puerto Rican resort village of Palmas Del Mar provides a relaxing setting for a getaway, and it's difficult to enjoy the sun and surf if you are forced to spend your time cooking. That means dining out is a necessity. In an unfamiliar city, though, most folks need some help. Never fear. There are plenty of restaurants ready to serve you in Palmas Del Mar. - This French restaurant, founded in 1985, is located in Anchors Village. Chef Daniel Vasse sticks to the classics with traditional French cuisine and a wine list that features more than 250 varieties. The menu starts with a few trademark French soups. The entrée menu includes bouillabaisse, sautéed sole in lemon butter sauce, a shrimp dish and swordfish served with a garlic butter confit. Lobster, prime rib, filet mignon, veal chops and chicken dishes also are on the menu. The dessert menu features vanilla cheesecake and mango, raspberry and lemon sherbert. Chez Daniel only serves dinner during the week. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Friday through Sunday, the restaurant serves both lunch and dinner. Sunday brunch is a popular option. Adjacent to the restaurant is the Tapas Bar, which offers wine and tapas made by the same chefs. Boat slips are available for rent near the restaurant.
