One common style of these structures that you can find is the gable which is the standard design. It has four walls, an angular roof, a door and optional windows and it has no gutter or extras. This is also the easiest to build among all the other types and requires the least materials; however the roofing of this limits the amount of indoor space that can be used.
On the other hand, the gambrel which is the traditional style of the structure has roofing which is built in so that you can have more space inside. With this kind of design you have to follow the DIY plans carefully because it needs to be accurately built.
You may also consider having a lean-to shed if you are thinking of having a narrow space for storage. It is simple with narrow design which needs to be leaned up against another structure - your house or your fence. This is the easiest one to build and though there are a lot of other designs, these three are the most common and has the most DIYs plans that you can find on the internet.
If you are interested in making a work place out of these sheds you may add shelves and a workbench. You can find plans which include shelves and other schematics that you may need.
