- 1). Rub black shoe polish over the key marks.
- 2). Wipe a cotton cloth over the shoe polish on your car, which will make the keyed marks show up black.
- 3). Sandpaper the key marks with the wet sandpaper until you no longer see the black shoe polish on your car.
- 4). Smear rubbing compound on the key marks, which you can purchase at an auto supply store.
- 5). Purchase a polishing wheel and gently buff the rubbing compound to a high shine finish.
- 6). Apply car wax to the newly-buffed area.
