- 1). Unplug the washing machine power cord from the wall outlet.
- 2). Remove the two screws located at the front lower corners of the front panel by turning them in a counterclockwise direction with a Philips screwdriver. Grasp the panel at both sides and simultaneously pull the bottom out while sliding the top out of its slots. Remove the panel and set it aside.
- 3). Remove the left-hand spring that attaches the chassis to the tub framework. Use a pair of vise grips attached to just below the hook at the top of the spring and carefully lift the spring hook out of the hole. Set the spring aside.
- 4). Unplug the wiring plug from the motor by pressing in on the tab on the wiring harness connector by hand while lifting up on the connector. Loosen the belt tension by removing the four bolts that attach the motor to the tub framework by turning them out in a counterclockwise direction with an adjustable wrench.
- 5). Make a note of the belt position on the pulleys. Roll the belt off the pulleys with your fingers and remove it. Place the new belt onto the pulleys into the same position as the old belt. Hold the motor in position on the tub framework and turn in the screws and tighten them in a clockwise direction with an adjustable wrench.
- 6). Plug the wiring connector back into the motor by pushing it in by hand until the tab snaps into place. Replace the spring to the tub by attaching a pair of vise grips to the spring just below the hook and lifting the spring hook into the hole.
- 7). Replace the front panel by sliding the top of the panel into the slots. Replace the two screws at the bottom of the panel by tightening them in a clockwise direction with a Philips screwdriver. Plug the power cord into the wall receptacle.
