- 1). Launch a Microsoft Word or Excel file containing text boxes.
- 2). Click inside the text box and the access points around the text box are displayed along the outer border of the box.
- 3). Move your cursor over the text box until the cursor changes to the "crosshair" cursor or "plus" sign, and click. The outer border changes from a dotted line to a solid line.
- 4). Hold down the "Ctrl" key and press the letter "X" or press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. This removes the text box from your Word or Excel document.
