- 1). Store the snow blower inside a secure, inside basement or garage if possible. Make sure windows and doors are kept locked at night and when you are away from home.
- 2). Store the snow blower and other valuable yard tools and equipment inside a stable and strong outdoor shed. Ideally, the shed should be located in a fenced-in backyard. A key-operated door lock and dead lock or a padlocked latch can be used to secure the door to the shed.
- 3). Install outdoor lighting and check the bulbs regularly, as thieves do not like to be exposed or visible.
- 4). Use an adjustable wrench or socket set to remove the rear wheels from the snow blower during the off season when the snow blower is not in use. The inability to push the machine away easily will dissuade most thieves.
