- 1). Open your code in LyX.
- 2). Select “Save As” from the “File” menu.
- 3). Select “Text Document (*.txt)” from the format menu and click “Save.” This will save the SGML code as a basic text document. You will lose any LyX formatting, but since SGML code does not use text formatting in any event, this is unimportant.
- 4). Change the extension of the new file from “.txt” to “.sgml”. This will let your computer recognize it as SGML code.
- 5). Right-click the SGML file and select “Open with.”
- 6). Select “DocBooks” from the menu that pops up.
