- 1). Open Microsoft Word or Excel to create your form.
- 2). Visit Microsoft Template website (see direct link below under "Resources"). Click "More categories" under the "Browse Templates" section.
- 3). Select the "Estimates" or "invoices" category. Both will work for the purpose of drawing up an estimate form for your cleaning business.
- 4). Browse the numerous choices of forms that can be used as estimate forms for your cleaning business. The sample information in the form that you choose does not have to specifically state "cleaning service" or have the exact fields that you need. You can change these fields later.
- 5). Take note of the specific program and version that is compatible with the form that you want to use to assure that you have that program installed on your computer.
- 6). Click the template you want and then select "Download." Save the template (a compressed .cab file) to a folder that you can easily find.
- 7). Extract the compressed file to the folder where you keep your cleaning business information (see "References" for more details). Double click the template and it will open in your program.
- 8). Change out the logo, business name, address, phone number, email and website address and replace with your own.
- 9). Type in a list of all of your most common cleaning services. Leave a space between each entry so that you can write in additional details related to the job. Leave a few spaces empty at the end in case the customer is requesting a special job that is not included on the list.

Add your motto or another special message that you want your customers to know about you and your business at the bottom of the form. - 11
Convert your Word or Excel file to PDF format to assure that the words and fields will print just as you see it on screen. Use CreatePDF.adobe.com if you do not have Adobe Acrobat. - 12
Print the form on two-part or three-part carbonless paper (see "Resources" for an example). You can print it yourself in a home office or send your custom template file to a professional printer. - 13
Keep copies of the form on hand and fill it out in the presence of the customer. Give the customer the top sheet---you keep the copy.
