Meditation Can Help to Reduce Stress

Stress is very common in today's society, in many areas of our lives, for example work related pressures, personal relationships, money and health issues.
What can we do to release some of these stresses that threaten to take over our lives and have a detrimental effect on our health? There are many books and articles on reducing stress but health experts, trainers and other professional sources all agree that Meditation is an excellent tool in the relief and management of stress.
When the body and mind is in a state of Meditation it becomes relaxed and can being to re-balance and rid itself of stress, in essence it begins to heal itself.
Meditation is best done in the morning as it will set you up for the day, but with today's busy lifestyle finding a regular time is not always easy.
If you cant Meditate in the morning, how about 10 minutes during your lunch break? or in the evening to help you relax after a hectic day.
Whatever time of the day you Meditate will do you good.
It can be difficult to Meditate when you are learning as the mind will wander and start to think of the everyday things in life that made you stressed in the first place.
When this happens, bring you mind back to your breathing and start again.
You can either focus on the breathing or if it helps say a mantra on each breath, for example I like to use the mantra, "peace" on the in breath and "calm" on the exhale.
Soon it will become natural to stay focused on the breathing and stay in a meditative state.
It can be useful to find a Meditation group or class to help.
Meditation puts our mind and body into deep relaxation.
It helps us to breathe easily, keep the blood pressure and stress levels normal and can be very helpful for people with heart conditions.
Meditation can help us to concentrate properly and enhances our learning process.
