- 1). If necessary, remove the frame of the magnetic board. Measure the bare board with a tape measure. Note the dimensions.
- 2). Lay the fabric face down on your work surface. Mark cutting guidelines according to the dimensions of the board on the fabric with dressmaker's chalk. Add one inch to each measurement in order to have enough fabric to wrap around the board. For example, to cover a magnetic board that is 11 inches by 17 inches, you need a piece of fabric that is 13 inches by 19 inches.
- 3). Cut out the fabric piece according to the noted measurements with scissors.
- 4). Lay the magnetic board face down, centered on the fabric.
- 5). Apply hot glue to the board 1/2 inch from the edge. As you fold one side of the fabric over the edge of the board, pull the fabric taut so that there is no slack in the fabric on the front side of the board. Press the edge of the folded fabric into the glue to secure it. You should have a one inch border of fabric along that side of the board.
- 6). Turn the board and repeat Step 5 on the remaining sides. Continue folding and gluing the fabric until you fold all four sides.
- 7). Place the wrapped board face down into an open picture frame that is the same size as the board. The frame should have a back, but no glass.
- 8). Place the back of the frame over the magnetic board. Turn the tabs on the frame backing to secure the back and board in the frame.
- 9). Affix buttons or rhinestones to the top of plain, coin-sized magnets to make them as equally fashionable as your board.
