- 1). Remove the trim from the shower by unscrewing the screws that are holding the chrome fixtures in place.
- 2). Place the trim items onto a flat surface that is covered with newspaper or a drop cloth.
- 3). Place a few drops of water onto a 600-grit piece of sand paper and use the sand paper to sand the chrome trim until you have a smooth, dull-looking finish.
- 4). Shake a can of spray trim paint to mix the paint. Do this for about two to three minutes.
- 5). Hold the spray paint about 10 inches away from the trim and spray across the chrome piece using a steady, sweeping motion. Move the can slowly enough across the trim to coat it with color, but don't move it so slowly that the paint begins to run.
- 6). Wait for approximately three hours as the paint dries.
- 7). Add another coat of paint to the chrome trim pieces and wait another three hours for this coat to dry.
- 8). Reattach the trim pieces to the shower.
