According to a source close to Premier League club Chelsea, they could be set to spend another £50 million on another player, this time looking to bring in former AC Milan and current Real Madrid attacker Kaka into the London based club.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Brazilian international for a number of seasons and failed in their attempt to lure the attacker to the club just before he moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Following his move to Spain, Kaka hasn't been able to find a niche area within the Spanish league, finding the switch between the Italian Serie A and the Spanish first division too much to handle.
While he has still been involved at the Madrid based club, Kaka has found himself having to battle for a place within the starting eleven and with manager Jose Mourinho constantly looking for more from him, it looks like the player could be about to quit the Spanish game in favour for a move to England.
The source close to Chelsea that has brought the story to the attention of the national media has said that "There is a strong chance that it (the deal) will happen".
The news will be of high interest to Premier League rivals Manchester City too, who will be sure to be ready to offer the £50 million thought to be on offer from Chelsea in the summer, many saying that the Lancashire club could even offer as much as £60 million.
With £50 million already invested in Fernando Torres, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will be willing to invest another £50 million into a player that seems to need a number of games in order to be able to adjust to the way that the club plays.
Will the transfer happen in the summer?
There is little reference towards to move from official club channels nor is there any indication that Kaka is looking to leave the Spanish giants with England set for his arrival but with the desire for success that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has for success, there is always a strong chance of a deal like this becoming a reality.
