Paisley Themes

• Purple and green paisleys work well for a teen's bedroom. Look for paisley patterns featuring various shades of purple and green. It's okay if the paisleys showcase other colors as long as purple and green are the most dominant shades. Find bedding and matching curtains with the classic paisley pattern and paint the walls solid purple or green. Other items and antiques can go well with this theme. Nautical Purple and Green Rooms

• A nautical purple and green teen room stands out because nautical themes typically are associated with basic blue, yellow and white. Steer away from the norm and create a truly distinctive nautical room with purple and green accents. Paint the walls light purple or pastel green. Place purple and green glass bottles with corks on her bookshelf, dresser and desk area. You can also fill a few of these bottles with craft sand or sand found at the beach to add to the nautical effect.
  
  Fish bowls also make decorative accents in a nautical room. Find a glass fish bowl to place on her dresser or shelf and fill the bowl up halfway with craft sand. The craft store also carries small pebbles and seashells, and you can paint these purple and green so they go well with your teen's purple and green color scheme. After painting the shells and pebbles, sprinkle these on top of the craft sand. You can then paint a few larger seashells and rocks purple and green and then place these in various spots throughout the room.
  
  Your teen might also want a few nautical pictures on the wall featuring boats and ocean scenes. Hang these up, but remember to place the photos in frames with a purple or green border.
