I attended an event to listen to an individual speak who has been a medical doctor for over 55 years.
He spoke about oxidative stress, free radicals and their impact on chronic disease and illness.
He was a funny man with a passion for wellness.
However, it was clear that his real passion is helping people feel better! What I absolutely loved about this man is his ability to explain how oxidative stress and free radical damage are linked to over 200 diseases in the human body in such a way, that those not trained in the medical field could understand how it impacts the cells in our bodies leading to chronic disease and illness.
He had a jovial demeanor and spoke honestly about the resistance of the medical community to embrace alternative methods such as using supplementation instead of drug treatment.
Obviously, it's no secret that the pharmaceutical companies have a huge stake in keeping people sick and unhealthy! If oxidative stress and free radical damage is scientifically proven to damage the 100 trillion cells in our body then wouldn't it make sense to find ways to reduce oxidative stress and fight the free radical damage that is making us so sick? I think so! As a society, we're so stuck in this belief system that the only way to wellness is to go to the doctor and get medication to help us feel better.
If that is the case then why are there so many sick people not getting better and not being able to work and have a quality life? Why?...
because we don't question medical doctors and their pharmaceutical bedfellows.
I'm always aghast that after some 50 plus years of having the greatest scientific minds working in these laboratories all over the country, and more-often-than-not getting research grants paid for by the American taxpayers, they can't find a cure for breast cancer, Alzheimer's, Diabetes, heart disease, chronic pulmonary disease, depression, MS and all the other diseases?...
how many more "Race for the Cures" is it going to take?...
it's like Forrest Gump who just keeps running and running.
We can find a way to get people into space on a rocket (that is scientifically amazing), send information through airwaves at lightning speed, videoconference someone on a different continent, create vaccines that eradicate childhood illnesses, yet the cures for some of the most common human diseases continue to elude these great scientists? Why?...
because the pharmaceutical companies don't want people well! The sicker the better! As disability specialist, I see firsthand the types of diseases and symptoms that are preventing people from having productive quality lives.
Here is a list of several of the diseases keeping people from working and enslaved in pain and suffering: COPD, leaky heart valves, asthma, pericarditis, hernias, fibromyalgia, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, coronary artery disease, stroke, lung cancer, MS, depression, restless leg syndrome, ADD, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, pacemaker, status post cardiac bypass surgery, end stage renal disease, Diabetes Mellitus, obesity, chronic fatigue, Rheumatoid arthritis, severe foot deformities, degenerative disk disease of the lumbar spine, degenerative disk disease of the cervical spine, gastritis, liver failure, bipolar disorder, Dementia, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, diabetic retinopathy, lymphedema, chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, and host of other diseases.
Now here is a list of some of the drugs that these people are prescribed to "treat" their diseases: Amryl, geodone, Glucophage, Lasix, lovastatin, MS contin, oxycodone, Percocet, Novolog, trazadone, Zantac, citalopram, metoprolol, clonidine, flexeril, loratab, albuterol, Flonase, Lopressor, Paxil, Prozac, abilify, Baclofen, Cymbalta, Lantus, lisinopril, metoformin, Rebif, Requip, lunesta, doxusate, Coumadin, rosuvastatin, lisinopril, Plavix, Glucotrol, dobutamine, milrinone, Coreg and many, many more! Yes, every single day in America men and women are applying for disability because of chronic physical and mental diseases that are preventing them from working and providing for their families.
As we age, our body's ability to fight free radicals and oxidative stress drastically decreases.
That's why doctors are always telling us to eat more fruits, vegetables and exercise...
in order for the body to function at optimal levels and create wellness it must have sufficiently quantities of antioxidants to balance cellular processes - avoiding oxidative stress -the very condition that leads to disease and malfunction.
The body is inherently equipped to produce enough antioxidants itself, and this response can be induced with a natural plant-based nutritive supplement!
