Los Angeles is one of the most-visited cities in the United States. Families across America and the world descend on Los Angeles to view the Hollywood sign, visit the beaches and possibly catch a glimpse of a celebrity or two. Finding things for kids to do in L.A. is not a problem; the city is filled with fun activities that keep both parents and children amused for the duration of the vacation. - Located near the intersection of Interstate 5 and the Ventura Freeway, the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is home to more than 1,000 animals that represent more than 250 species; the Botanical Gardens displays more than 7,000 plants from 800 different species. Special shows and exhibits can be found throughout the zoo and gardens. In addition, the zoo has a special children's zoo where kids can pet and feed domestic farm animals. Both the zoo and garden are open 364 days a year (closed on Christmas).
