- 1). Remove any objects from the back of your car. Cut a large garbage bag to the size of the window with scissors. Spray water on the outer side of the window, and place the garbage bag on the window.
- 2). Cover the floor and walls in the car with tarp. Spray ammonia on the tinted windows.
- 3). Warm the car window from the outside with a heat gun, or park your car in a sunny spot for a few hours.
- 4). Scrape the tint film on the outer edge to begin the peeling process. Slowly pull the tint film off the car window. If the ammonia begins to dry, spray some more on the tint while peeling.
- 5). Scrub off any remaining adhesive residue with steel wool. Wipe the window clean with paper towels before the ammonia dries.
