When you are creating sales copy, limit the use of hype. There are many good sales copies that get ruined because the copywriter used a lot of hype to push the product. You can tell people the value of a high quality product and it will mostly sell itself. You will do better by writing valid benefits that the reader can enjoy from the product instead of overselling it. There needs to be a good balance between the hype you create and the real information you give away. People are only looking at your sales copy because they want to learn something about your product so they can decide if they want it. People will trust you and your product if your approach is honest and down to earth. Limit your use of things like italics, bold headlines and exclamation points. If you have a particular point you want to emphasize you can use these. They are best used sparingly. When used too much, it has a phony look. This is far from the effect you are trying to achieve with your copy. Focus on giving people some helpful facts and stick to the truth. Your copy should be easy to read and absorb. You also have to remember that your reader is not really interested in your product's features, it's the benefits he cares about. If you can show how your product benefits customers, they will be interested, otherwise they won't really care about its features, no matter how great they may be. Your customers are more interested in hearing about what your product will do to help them than in how you created it. You can handle this by making sure that for every feature you list you also mention a benefit. Keep in mind that when people discuss your product with others, they aren't going to mention all of its features, but focus on the practical benefits. You may have features that make you different from your competitors, but people buy because of the benefits. It's helpful to make use of bullet points to list your product's benefits.

You should also remember to end your sales copy with a p.s. or post script. If you get the post script right, you can increase your sales. Studies have shown that the P.S. is read by almost everybody who reads your headline. Apart from that, it stops many people from leaving your page and once again reinforces the benefits of the product. Summarize your offer and make the post script a strong calling. Effective copywriting is about learning to harness the power of words to really showcase your product to prospective buyers. It is 100% worth it but may take some time to fully master.
