- 1). Unplug the turntable and remove the cartridge and head shell by turning the knurled metal collar that secures it to the tonearm. Secure the tonearm in its dock, using the sprung plastic clip.
- 2). Place the towel or cushion on your work surface. Flip the turntable over and gently lay it down onto the cushion so it protects the tonearm and other components from the weight of the turntable.
- 3). Unscrew the four feet by hand. They have a threaded bolt that allows for height adjustment. Turn them all the way, and they should pop out. Set them aside and remove the screws around the edge of the molded rubber base. There are 21 in total, so use a power screwdriver to save time.
- 4). Work around the edge of the base, gently popping it free from the case. Do not yank it from the rest of the turntable since there are wires connected to the base.
- 5). Locate the board directly beneath the power knob; the center shaft of the rotary switch comes down through the chromed base and connects to a switch on the circuit board. Push the old one out through the top of the turntable. Lift the turntable slightly and slide the new one under the unit and through the chromed knob. Ensure that it matches with the actual power switch securely. Give a few test switches before re-assembling.
- 6). Replace the rubber base, fit all the screws back into their original holes and thread the rubber feet back onto their spindles. Check that everything is solid and secure, then turn the unit back over onto its feet. Reconnect the power cable and test the new switch.
