• Geneva-on-the-Lake is considered the first summer resort in Ohio, according to the tourism board's website. Just steps from Lake Erie, the town plays up its access to summer activities like swimming, fishing, golf and more. Geneva-on-the-Lake has its own state park. • The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake is part of the resort area of Ohio that locally is called "The Strip," according to the Lodge's website. The Lodge features eight different room types, from standard rooms with two double beds to King Whirlpool rooms that feature a Jacuzzi tub and a king-sized bed. Some rooms are pet friendly and ADA compliant. The Lodge also has other amenities like an indoor pool, massages, bicycle rentals, fitness center and game room, which features a pool table and air hockey. The Lodge also has its own conference rooms, business center and two restaurants. The Lodge is part of Geneva State Park and provides picturesque views of Lake Erie. Anchor Motel and Cottages

• The Anchor Motel and Cottages provides views of Lake Erie from many of the rooms, and the lake is just across the street. There are just six motel rooms, but they each feature a microwave, tables and chairs, coffeemaker, and a television. There are also six two-bedroom cottages that require a two-day stay. All of them have kitchens, small dining areas, living areas with furniture and access to a gazebo. The grounds feature barbecue grills and a parking lot. Geneva-on-the-Lake has two golf courses, including Geneva-on-the-Lake Golf Course, which features 18 holes that are open to the public. North Wind Motel

• On weekends, guests of the North Wind Motel can take advantage of free donuts, coffee and cereal in the motel's lobby. The North Wind is just 100 feet from Lake Erie, according to the motel's website. Rooms come with cable television, free wireless Internet, refrigerators, microwaves, and heat controls. Additionally, kids stay free with parents, and small pets are welcome. Geneva is the yearly host of the Grape Jamboree, a yearly festival celebrating the local grape harvest. The festival showcases local art, cars, crafts and a pageant. The Grape Jamboree occurs the last week of September.
