- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and select either the search box or the "Run" command.
- 2). Type "regedit" (without quotation marks) and press the "Enter" key. If you used the search box, click the "regedit" item once it appears at the top of the search results box.
- 3). Click "Continue," or provide your administrator user name and password and click "OK," when prompted to confirm your choice by Windows.
- 4). Look to the left side of the Registry Editor window and locate the top-level folder labeled "HKEY_CURRENT_USER." Click the arrow to the left of the folder to expand its contents, and then do the same for the following sub-folders: "Software" > "Microsoft" > "Windows" > "CurrentVersion" > "Explorer."
- 5). Single-click the "User Shell Folders" folder on the left side of the window.
- 6). Look to the right side of the window, right-click the "My Pictures" item, and then select "Modify."
- 7). Type "%USERPROFILE%\Pictures" (without quotation marks) in the "Value data" field, and then click "OK."
- 8). Click the red "X" in the top-right corner of the window to close the Registry Editor utility.
- 9). Restart your computer.
