- 1). Loosen and disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery with a wrench.
- 2). Unclip and remove the air filter housing. Disconnect the inlet and outlet intercooler ducts from the turbocharger manifold with a screwdriver or wrench to loosen the clamps.
- 3). Label the three electrical connections on the turbo manifold with masking tape and a marker so you will remember which connector they go back on. The three connections are, from left to right, the manifold air heater connector, the MAP sensor vacuum lines and connector, and the IAT sensor connector.
- 4). Loosen the clamps on the turbocharger manifold with a wrench or screwdriver then remove the manifold.
- 5). Remove the O-ring on the turbocharger manifold duct. You may need a small screwdriver to pry it out but be very careful not to scratch the metal contact surface.
- 6). Loosen the clamp on the exhaust outlet with a screwdriver or wrench and remove the clamp.
- 7). Slide the retaining clip from the actuator lever arm and disconnect the actuator rod from the turbocharger with a wrench. Label the wastegate solenoid vacuum hose with the masking tape and marker.
- 8). Loosen the hose clamps on the turbo inlet ducts with a wrench and remove them.
- 9). Raise the vehicle with a jack and lower it onto jack stands. Loosen and remove the exhaust outlet pipe and brace from the catalytic converter with a wrench.
