- 1). Remove the broken needle and replace with a style 2020, size 14 needle.
- 2). Position the needle with the flat side toward the back of the machine. Push the needle up as far as possible and use a screwdriver to tighten the needle set screw.
- 3). Guide, but do not pull, the fabric through the machine.
- 1). Thread the Tiny Serger on threading path A. Bring the thread from the spool on the right through the thread guide holder on the top frame of the Serger. Using tweezers, place the thread between the two discs and bring it through the guide on the front of the machine, next to the dial on the right. Raise the lower looper about 3 mm until it's near the internal cover. Put the thread into the hole on the left side and bring it toward you, guiding it from back to front. Put the thread between the two loopers. Guide the thread through the hole on the right side and bring it to the left.
- 2). Thread the Tiny Serger on threading path B. Bring the thread from the middle spool through the thread guide holder on the top frame. Pull the thread down through the guide next to the middle dial. Use tweezers to place the thread between the two discs. Turn the hand wheel toward you and lower the needle to its lowest position. Bring the thread down through the guide at the back of the machine. Turn the hand wheel and raise the needle to its highest position. Thread the upper looper by bringing the thread into the hole on the right side. Guide the thread into the threader. Pull the threader toward you to thread the looper from back to front. Draw the thread through the hole on the left and bring the thread to the left.
- 3). Thread the Tiny Serger on threading path C. Bring the thread from the spool on the left through the threading guide on the top of the frame. Pull the thread down through the guide on the front of the machine, next to the dial on the left. Use tweezers to place the thread between the two discs. Bring the thread down through the guide above the needle, then up in front of the guide and back through it again, forming a loop. Thread the needle from front to back and bring the thread to the left.
- 4). Replace a bent or damaged needle.
- 5). Adjust the thread tension if it is too tight. The three dials on the front of the serger control the tension. Turn each dial very slightly in a counter-clockwise direction and sew a few stitches on a piece of scrap fabric to test the tension. Continue to adjust the tension in small increments until it is correct.
- 6). Thread the machine again if threads are tangled.
- 7). Remove the needle and replace it, with the flat side toward the back of the Tiny Serger.
- 8). Position the thread guide holder by pushing it up until you hear a faint click, which indicates that it is in the right position.
- 1). Replace a bent or damaged needle.
- 2). Tighten a loose needle. Loosen the needle set screw with a screwdriver and push the needle firmly into place. Tighten the set screw.
- 3). Thread the machine correctly.
- 4). Adjust the thread tension if the stitches are irregular.
