- 1). Click the "View" menu on the Firefox menu bar. The menu bar is the uppermost toolbar just below the (usually blue) title bar.
- 2). Click "Toolbars" to display the toolbars' submenu. All toolbars that are currently displayed in Firefox will have check marks on them. If a toolbar is not checked, it is already hidden.
- 3). Click a toolbar you want to hide. For example, click the "Bookmarks Toolbar." This deselects the toolbar and hides it from view immediately.
- 1). Click "View" on the Firefox menu bar. Click "Toolbars" to display its submenu. Click "Customize" in the submenu. Firefox will open its "Customize Toolbar" dialogue box.
- 2). Click a toolbar button from among the Firefox toolbars. Drag the button into the "Customize Toolbar" dialogue box. Wait for a gray rectangle to show on the mouse cursor. Release the mouse button to drop the toolbar button into the window. This will remove the button from the Firefox toolbar.
- 3). Click the "Close" button to close the "Customize Toolbar" dialogue box.
- 1). Click the "View" menu on the Internet Explorer menu bar.
- 2). Click "Toolbars" on the "View" menu.
- 3). Click the toolbar that you want to hide from view. For example, click the "Status Bar" if you do not want Internet Explorer to display browsing status.
- 1). Right-click the "Command Bar" on the Internet Explorer toolbar area. This opens a right-click context menu.
- 2). Point to "Customize." Click "Add or Remove Commands." A dialogue box will open. You will see a list of available commands as well as commands that are currently displayed.
- 3). Click an item that you want to hide under "Current Toolbar Buttons." Click "Remove." Do this for all items you want to remove from the toolbar.
- 4). Click "Close" to return to the main Internet Explorer window.
