Don"t Settle for Amateur Landscape Design

Good landscaping is made, not born.
Landscape design makes all the difference in the look and feel of a lawn, outdoor entertainment area, or entrance to a business.
Why? The reason is that there is so much more to it that plunking down a bush here, a tree there, and a bed of flowers nearby.
And that's just the greenery we are talking about.
What about lighting? What about irrigation and sprinklers? What about walkways, and seating areas, and restful features such as a waterfall or fountain? Landscape designers speak in terms of "greenscaping," "hardscaping" and "lightscape.
" A greenscape requires thought and conversation about what the outcome will be.
If it is room to entertain, then the size and shape of the plantings is essential.
If the goal is privacy, then the greenery plans literally take a different shape.
Have you ever seen a lawn that looked disconnected? That can be the result of amateur landscaping.
A good designer is all about the flow between the plants, trees, flowers and the other features.
Plants are not cheap.
Why would you skimp on good advice on how to use them most effectively? Not to mention the fact that they must be able to thrive in the place they are put.
If they need direct sunlight, a designer will know this.
Hardscaping is the use of brick, pavers, stone, and water features to set off areas of landscape, and to allow access to them.
This is so often neglected by amateur designers.
For instance, some people simply depend upon a landscape maintenance company to determine where to plant things.
Since they are in the business of cutting and pruning, they don't care much about what else is there.
But you do care.
You will marvel at the artwork that can be created out of the combination of stone or moving water, such as a fountain.
Hardscape ties it all together.
And then lighting makes it ideal.
You can enjoy the landscaping of your lawn day and night with proper lighting.
It requires all of the thought and artistic attention to detail as both the green and hard scapes.
Entertainment areas can be offset.
You will have an entirely new appreciation of a tree when it is softly up lit.
Landscape design will also include attention to irrigation and sprinklers.
This is a professional touch too often overlooked and which can make the difference between the unimpressive and the "wow" factor.
