Those who hurriedly created an account to use their console are often stuck with unimaginative names, such as Jeff15 or XXAmyXX. Not that such names are necessarily bad, but they are so common that they inspire little interest in those who see them. Additionally, they express nothing about the personality of the person on the other side of the game. Using custom software, some users modify their gamer signatures to better tell the world more about themselves and alter them as they want, rather than being stuck with a singular tag in every game.
