- 1). Shut down all program windows on your computer that are open. Then select "Start->Settings->Control Panel" from your computer's start menu. Click the "Add or Remove Programs" menu choice.
- 2). Select the "Symantec Norton Antivirus" program on the next menu. Single left click the "Remove" option.
- 3). Remove the Symantec program by choosing the "Continue" menu button followed by the "Yes" button and the program will be uninstalled.
- 4). Reboot your computer after the uninstall process is complete. The Norton icons should be removed from your desktop and start menu.
- 5). Download the automatic Symantec program removal tool from the first resource of this article if Norton failed to uninstall.
- 6). Double click the Symantec application removal file. After it has completed running and removing Symantec products on your computer, restart the machine. The Symantec antivirus client will now be removed.
