Solving Global Crises - Is One-Child Policy a Solution?

Many experts are saying that the growing population is a major menace that triggers all issues worldwide.
The strain of an estimated nine billion people by 2050 is expected to push the earth to the limits no matter how simple the lifestyle would be.
In addition, they are claiming that the population explosion is the sole factor in climate change, urban pollution, water crisis, agricultural collapse and ecological destruction.
They are even proposing a one-child policy for couples so that population growth can be controlled.
Sharing my own views on this issue, I believe that population alone is not the major problem.
A one-child policy will just be a superficial solution to the ongoing global issues that we face.
Governments need to adopt measures that will teach the citizens of every nation to take their little steps in solving the environmental degradation and the scarcity of resources.
No matter how much we reduce the number of people, if the remaining individuals will still continue doing wastage and abuse of the environment and contributing to various crises, the problems remain.
The reality is laid back to the willingness of the people to follow laws and take an active stance of preserving what can be saved.
Discipline nowadays has been an obsolete word.
No one knows its true essence.
We seem to think of complex ideas to solve the problem and yet we have not come into conclusion that we are lacking discipline in so many ways.
The improper disposal of garbage or even the misused of water in our faucets are seemingly simple things that we have not realized are indeed contributing to the ongoing crises.
Don't blame big families alone; look into every source that contributes to the ecological damage.
This may pertain to policies, practices and the overall perspective of how we do things.
