Using a Non-Toxic Mil-Prf-80 Degreaser Does More Then Benefit the Environment

If your company has been using a line of mil-prf-680 degreasers for a long period of time, the last thing that you want to do is potentially throw a wrench in your operations by switching to line of non-toxic degreasers that claim to conform to mil-prf-680 standards.
However, there are several reasons to abandon your current degreasers for non-toxic solutions that are scientifically proven to offer the same or better results than traditional mil-prf-680 degreasers.
In some cases, companies switch from a traditional degreaser to non-toxic degreaser out of environmental friendliness.
But there are also several business reasons why switching to an environmentally friendly degreaser is a smart move.
As environmental consciousness increases, the EPA continues to limit and prohibit the use of certain chemicals in industrial settings, meaning that solvents that contain those chemicals are either no longer produced or no longer marked toward industrial outfits.
In some cases, switching from one degreaser to the next doesn't cause a company trouble.
But if you use a degreaser that is specifically designed for certain degreasing applications, suddenly being without that degreaser can cause significant problems.
In most cases, organic solvent companies design non-toxic degreasers to conform to the performance of traditional degreasers, the difference being that the components are less environmentally threatening.
Therefore, switching to a comparable non-toxic degreaser needn't result in lesser performance quality.
Another reason to switch to a non-toxic degreaser is employee safety.
Workers that are regularly exposed to harsh chemicals often develop health conditions that can be proven to result from toxic exposure, which commonly lead to expensive lawsuits where companies pay millions of dollars in settlements and jury awards.
Even if an employee suspected that he or she was at risk, this rarely excuses a company's culpability in the eyes of a jury.
Ultimately, toxic exposure lawsuits can do more than compromise a company's finances; they can also demolish its public reputation.
A third reason to switch to a safer degreaser is to preserve the parts it degreases.
Irregularly degreasing parts with a toxic degreaser usually has a negligible effect on the part's lifespan.
But if you regularly degrease machine and engine parts with a traditional degreaser, the corrosive effects can be considerable.
Although your degreaser may be considered safe for the machine parts that you apply it to, it's important to remember that those safety standards were decided in relation to the effects of toxic-degreasers and not non-toxic degreasers.
By switching to a non-toxic degreaser, you can get the same degreasing quality while extending the lifetime of your machinery.
