- 1). Remove the screws located in the armrest using a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the screw in front of the interior door latch as well.
- 2). Remove the door panel by inserting a flat-head screwdriver between the door panel and door. Pry the trim fasteners out of their recess around all three sides of the door panel. Move the door panel away from the door enough to disconnect the electrical connectors to the window and door lock switches.
- 3). Pull the plastic water shield from the rear of the door to expose enough of the rear access panel to get to the door latch. Remove the electrical connector on the door latch and lock mechanism.
- 4). Remove the rod from the inside door handle and the door lock rod from the door latch using the needle-nose pliers. The rods are the closest rods to the inside door frame. There is a plastic retainer on each of the rods; use the needle-nose pliers to twist the retainer off the rod end and the rod will lift straight up and out.
- 5). Remove the inside rods for the outside door handle and door lock in the same manner.
- 6). Remove the three Phillips screws from the backside of the door that secure the door latch. Remove the door latch. Remove the screws in the door latch holding the door lock mechanism to the latch. Replace all parts in reverse order of removal.
