- Use fabric markers to write the party details on white pillowcases. Fold the pillowcases up and mail them to your party guests. Decorate the party area with a variety of pillows, blankets and sleeping bags. Guests can make sleepover-themed crafts like nightshirts. Give each guest a long, white nightshirt or a pair of basic slippers. They can use fabric markers, glitter pens, puff paints and beads to decorate their own nightshirt or slippers. Boys can use regular length shirts instead of long shirts. Guests can watch movies and eat movie theater food, such as nachos, hot dogs, popcorn and boxes of candy.
- Host a bowling party at your house or your local bowling center. Print pictures of bowling pins and write the party details on each one to mail to your guests. Decorate the party area with inflatable bowling pins and balls, pictures of bowling centers and bowling shirts. Purchase a real bowling pin online or from your local bowling center for the party guests to sign. Each party guest can sign the bowling pin for the birthday guest of honor.
- Play a game of musical sleeping bags or have sleeping bag races at a sleepover party. To play musical sleeping bags, scatter sleeping bags on the floor, one fewer than you have players. Play music and have the children walk around the bags. When the music stops, they must get into a sleeping bag. The player left out is out of the game. Remove one bag and play again. The last player remaining wins the game. For a sleeping bag race, make a starting line and finish line 15 feet apart. Have each player get inside a sleeping bag and have a race to the finish line. They can hop or roll to get to the line.
- If you have the party at home, make bowling pins using empty plastic bottles and use a volleyball or soccer ball as a bowling ball. Plastic bowling sets are also available at many toy stores. Whether you are at a bowling alley or at home, have contests to see who can knock down the most pins, who can knock down the most pins bowling backwards and who can knock down the most pins bowling through their legs. Play a game of "Hot Bowling Pin" instead of "Hot Potato" with a plastic or inflatable bowling pin.
