- 1). Hold a hook, barrel swivel or lure in one hand and the free end of the fishing line in your other hand.
- 2). Insert the end of the line through the eye of the hook, lure or tackle. Pull 8 inches of line beyond the eye for tying.
- 3). Wrap the free end of the line around the main line three times.
- 4). Turn the free end down toward the eye of the lure forming an elongated loop along side the wrapped line.
- 5). Wrap the free end of the line around the main line three more times. Pass the line through the elongated loop to the side and wrap only around the main line with the three three previous wraps. Do not wrap the line around the elongated loop to the side.
- 6). Pull the free end of the line up through the elongated loop following the final wrap. Moisten the knot and continue pulling the free end of the line up toward the main line to tighten the knot down around the eye of the lure, hook or swivel. Clip excess line from the knot with scissors.
