- 1). Grasp the sides of the furnace's top front access panel. Lift up on the panel while simultaneously pulling it toward you. Set the removed furnace panel aside.
- 2). Locate the furnace plenum; the plenum is a metal box that is screwed to the top of the upper furnace housing.
- 3). Locate the limit switch, a flat, round component mounted to the side of the furnace plenum. Note that in a Rheem Criterion II RGPH-12EARJR furnace, the limit switch is tucked inside its own compartment. Remove the compartment cover to access the limit switch.
