Marriage is increasingly becoming one of them.
That is a statement that way too many people are making these days and it is costing them dearly.
Trying to manage busy households or work environments leave a lot of folks with a zero life.
They do not know what they are missing out on in a good marriage because of these temporary set backs.
I ask the question...
"Why do you feel that you have to "adjust" to these things anyway"? I felt that way about married life in the beginning.
You know, when you feel that you have to conform to the dictates of society.
Go to school, get a good job.
Eat this.
Do that.
Marry.
Not marry.
It used to be that a person would live accordingly.
If it tasted good, you ate it.
Didn't matter that it was or wasn't good for you.
If you could sustain yourself in health, body and mind, then by all means play that sport, run that race, lift that bale, tote that barge! And now marriage is being challenged in such a way that it makes it a more doubt filled idea than a true commitment.
It used to be just the fear of the responsibility of caring for another person and a family.
That also came with the usual finance issues that always seemed to be at the top of everyone's list of just trying to make a living.
However, there is no doubt whatsoever about married life when you find the person who shares the comfort of love, joy, peace and commitment with you.
You know, that commitment of sticking with it through the thick and thin as they used to say.
But now it's more than merely trying to make a living for the new love of your life...
in today's world it seems both you and your mate find yourselves just really trying to keep up with what appears to be almost hourly changes to your lives! Not leaving a whole lot of time to just be married.
To just be together.
If there is any adjustment factor that needs to be adhered to...
it is the fact of respecting one another no matter the schedule that life deals you each and every day.
Make time for the one you made promises to! The adjustment factor...
would make a great title for a spy novel or movie.
But then again, so would my marriage...
hhmmmm...
