Nicholby's Upstairs provides the atmosphere for high-energy adult parties, Cronies has plenty of televisions for sports parties and Mia' Cafe has live music suitable for all ages.
  
  

Nicholby's Upstairs

• Nicholby's Upstairs, located on Ventura's well-known and busy Main Street, is a small yet lively nightclub. Nicholby's hold roughly 400 people but also boasts two full bars, six pool tables and darts. The bars also feature micro-brewed beers from Ventura and Central California. The large stage at Nicholby's has hosted several big names in the music industry. Hip-hop artists E-40, Bubba Sparxxx, Ciara and Cypress Hill have all performed their greatest hits on stage. When live artists are not playing, patrons can enjoy themed nights. Dance parties and Salsa Nights are held on both Monday and Friday. Classic rock and hip-hop songs are played on Thursday nights.

Mai's Cafe & Da Aloha Lounge

• Mai's Cafe offers authentic Vietnamese and Hawaiian food. The large banquet hall provides a perfect place for a large party or corporate event. The banquet hall seats about 125 people, has a dance floor, is available as an open or catered event, and comes equipped with a stage for live music. Live music is played on both Friday and Saturday on stage. A wide range of music can be heard at Mai's, including jazz, Latin, swing and rock. All live music shows are free for paying customers. Mai's menu and catering offers several different traditional Hawaiian and Vietnamese dishes. Chicken with broccoli, chicken stir-fry with lemongrass, pho, Vietnamese barbecue pork and shrimp and ahi poki are just some examples of the food served here.

Cronies Sports Grill

• According to Cronies' website, this sports grill has been voted in the number-one sports grill in Ventura County. Cronies has had plenty of time to build this kind of reputation. Opening its doors in 1990, Cronies keeps customers returning with satellite and large screen televisions to watch the most popular sporting events. The food is also highly recommended. Customer favorites include the chuckwood combo, blackened chicken, the thirsty turkey and the chicken teriyaki. Again, according to Cronies' website, the hamburgers have been voted the best in Ventura County. Cronies also serves 15 beers from the tap in its famous ice-cold scooners. These large, round, 20-ounce glass cups are kept frosty to give customers the coldest beer they can drink.
