Studying the Scriptures of the New Testament can be so exciting and thrilling and rewarding and I am slowly but carefully and prayerfully making my way through these pages in the book of Revelation and in Chapter 6 we read that there is concern in heaven.
This is prayer in heaven, and heavenly prayers by their very nature are sinless prayers.
This is a prayer that the God of Justice will show this world to be based on Justice.
There can be no human sin intermingling with prayerful words here.
This prayer is pure and holy and just.
These saints are asking God the God of Justice to do what is right! The astonishing answer is - rest awhile and wait a little longer.
Do not press for the end of all things just yet.
There are more martyrs coming to join you! The Book of Revelation has attracted all kind of people over these years but there is a relevance in Revelation just now and almost a parallel in Revelation just now, which makes it even more attractive and we have to be most careful and almost cautious.
Martyrdom is ugly, but martyred saints in glory will be totally free, but still concerned, and our God knows how many are going to die because they believe in Jesus.
Jesus will have a place prepared for each one of them.
Jesus made that clear, and spelled it out specifically in the Gospel of John.
We read of those who have lost their lives for their faith in Jesus Christ in the book of Revelation.
But I have been reading and studying Revelation Chapter 6, and many people are most interested in the significance of Revelation in the New Testament in these troubled times when globally everything appears to be in a bit of an upheaval, but now we come to the sixth seal.
There have been five seals, and this is the sixth, and the seventh will not be opened up until Chapter 8.
It is a most interesting literary structure too.
We rely so much upon the regularity of nature, with the sun rising and the stars in their place, and the tides, but this natural world which we call 'nature' is going to become unreliable and there will be cataclysmic events.
Here is a picture of our world being shaken, and stars falling, with the moon changing colour, the sun eclipsed and the earth quaking.
The sky is as if someone had rolled it up as a piece of paper.
Mountains and islands are removed.
Atlases are suddenly out of date, and to many this might sound unthinkable or exaggeration? Here is a picture of our world changing and disintegrating dramatically and quite suddenly.
Unusual things will be occurring and some will become terrified.
Jesus Christ referred to this in Matthew Chapter 24 verse 29, so all of this in the book of Revelation is not totally new.
People have been showing us a possible new shape of our own country as waves and tides and rains wash away low lying parts.
In that day everyone will fear God.
People do not fear God just now.
They laugh at God today and make jokes about God, in so many ways they try to ignore that He is alive and on His eternal throne.
One day there will not be anywhere to hide.
Man will have to face the God he has rejected, laughed at, and run away from.
Look at the list in verse 15.
On that day we will either be one in Christ or one in hiding.
It is good to have a healthy fear of God.
In generations gone by Pastors used to be sent for just before people died, but not so today.
Men do not fear God.
This word teaches us that there will come a day when people will fear God, and what a picture we have of those seeking to escape.
Here once again, we see how important it is to be committed to the God of the Bible, and to the Jesus of the Bible.
We do not read here of there being any desire to repent, and there is cry or call or plea or request for mercy.
It is as if people have become so hard in their sin.
They would rather endure the agony described in these verses, than repent.
We will either be one in Christ, or one in hiding from Christ.
What is happening to God's people when all this takes place? When all this is happening what will happening to the people of God, and to those who are in Christ? This is important to you and to me.
When the world is coming under these judgments what will be happening to Christians, to those who are born again, or converted, saved, or washed in the blood shed on the Cross? The language can vary but the vital question is what will be happening to those who are disciples of Jesus Christ, the Son of God? At this point there is a pause in the progress of the vision.
Chapter 7 breaks in the series of the seven seals, and Chapter 7 gives us the answer, and here is how those who belong to Jesus Christ will fare.

God will not forget His people.
