- 1). Open Norton Internet Security or Norton AntiVirus.
- 2). Click "Scan Now" and select "Run Custom Scan" to open the window "Scans."
- 3). Click "Scan files." Browse your computer and find the file in question.
- 4). Double-click on the file to start the virus scan. If a virus is found, the Norton program removes it automatically from the file. Note that the virus removal is not always possible. In such a case, the file will be relocated to a special "quarantine" Norton folder to prevent possible system damage.
