- 1). Schedule breaks. A five-minute break every half hour or so is ideal. If you're worried that you will forget, plan breaks into programs such as Outlook or Google Calendar and set them to send reminders. You can find a number of small reminder programs online.
- 2). Get up and walk around when your break comes up. Get a drink of water or use the restroom. A break doesn't need to be a break from work. If you have work that doesn't involve typing, this is a good time to do it.
- 3). Return to your work at the end of your break. Arramge your chair, desk and keyboard in a comfortable position. Confirm your scheduled next break, then resume typing.
