- 1). Fill the fuel tank with the proper amount of glow fuel recommended by the RC helicopter's documentation. Make sure that the throttle linkage is free from debris and the engine is set to the idle position.
- 2). Turn on the radio control transmitter and then turn on the radio receiver switch on the RC helicopter. Make sure that the transmitter controls are set properly, especially the throttle controls and double check the idle setting on the helicopter once more.
- 3). Attach the glow starter firmly to the glow plug installed on the engine. Connect the electric starter to the starting shaft of the RC helicopter. Make sure that the starter is firmly attached and as straight as possible to avoid damage to the starter motor or the helicopter while starting.
- 4). Grip the blades of the helicopter firmly and activate the electric starter to turn over the helicopter's engine. Once the helicopter has started, remove the glow starter from the engine, let go of the blades and make sure you and others are distanced away from the helicopter before taking off.
