Campout

Desmond and Hurley watch Jin at the shoreline.
"Dude, you're going to have to tell me again, what do we need Jin for?" Hurley asks.

"Because he was there with us."

"On the beach, when I find the cable."

Desmond sees the flashes again. "That's right."

"In one of your puzzle flashes."

"Aye," Desmond says.

"So, if he doesn't come, then neither does the someone you won't tell me anything about."

"That would be the long and short of it." Desmond looks at Jin.

"I have no bloody idea how I'm going to get him to come with us."

"Watch the master," Hurley says and walks over to Jin.

A few minutes later, Jin says, "Camping?"

"Yeah, you know," Hurley says, "like sleeping under the stars, fire on the beach, marshmallows."

"Camping," Jin says. "Yes."

"Everybody likes camping."

"Good man," Desmond says. He starts to walk away. "Get food, water."

"Where you going?" Hurley asks.

"We need one more."

Nothing to do with Charlie

"How daft to you think I am?" Charlie asks. "This isn't a camping trip. You've had another one of your visions, haven't you? What was it this time?"
"Someone is coming."

"Coming? As in someone that is not already here? How the hell is that going to happen?"

"I can't tell you."

"It's got nothing to do with me?"

"Well, you're a part of it, as are Jin and Hurley."

"Right," Charlie says, "but with all due respect, you haven't previously told Jin or Hurley that they're going to die."

Desmond sees a flash of the arrow that he'd seen kill Charlie.

"Well that's not going to happen.

Not this time."

Charlie thinks about it. "Can I bring my guitar?"

"Absolutely," Desmond says.

"Alright, I'm in. You had me worried there for a second."

The Wire

Desmond, Charlie, Hurley, and Jin walk along the shoreline. Except for Desmond, they are whistling a tune.
"This is it," Hurley says.

"How can you tell?" Desmond asks.

"'Cause that's exactly where I followed the wire into the jungle."

"Where is it then?"

Jin feels around with his foot and pulls up part of the wire.

Hurley pulls up more of the wire and says, "Here it is," just like in Desmond's flashes. "Just one thing," Hurley says, "last time I followed this wire into the jungle, I almost got kabobbed by one of Rousseau's spiky death trap things."

Desmond sees flashes of the arrow that killed Charlie. "We're not going in the jungle. Well, not yet. It's getting late, so we'll camp here tonight."

"Camp," Jin says with a smile.

Charlie walks up to Desmond and says, "So when does it get here? This mysterious someone?"

"Soon," Desmond says.

Brother Desmond Gets Popped

Desmond and the monk put wine bottles into crates.
"You do realize you are free to talk again, Brother Desmond," the monk says.

"Used to being quiet, I suppose," Desmond says and puts a Moriah Vineyards label on a bottle. "Moriah," he says. "I find the name the brothers have chosen for the wine made here interesting."

"And why is that, brother?"

"On Moriah is where Abraham was asked to kill Isaac. It's not exactly the most festive locale, is it?"

"And yet, God spared Isaac."

"Well, one might argue that God need not have asked Abraham to sacrifice his son in the first place."

"Well then, it wouldn't have been much of test, would it, brother? Perhaps you underestimate the power of sacrifice."

Another monk walks in, followed by a man. "Brother Desmond," the monk says. "I met this man at the gate. Says he needs to have a word with you."

The man walks up and punches Desmond in the nose. Desmond's nose bleeds.

The man crosses himself, then looks at the monk and says, "Sorry, sir."

Desmond, nose bleeding, looks at the monk and says, "Forgive me, brother."

Jack and Juliet, Kate and Sawyer

Kate sits in the beach kitchen eating oatmeal. Jack walks over and starts preparing something.
"Hey," Kate says in greeting. "The oatmeal is awesome."

"It is, huh?" Jack says

"It's strange, huh, being back? Not looking for a way out of a cage, not finding a reason to go running off into the jungle again. I'm not sure what to do with myself."

"Well enjoy it," Jack says. "I'm sure something will go wrong soon enough."

Kate laughs. "Well, my big dangerous event for the night is going to be doing dishes in the ocean."

Jack tells her to be careful and then asks to borrow her spoon. She puts it in her mouth and then gives it to him. He says good night and walks off as she gathers the dishes.

She hears giggling and sees that Jack is eating and laughing with Juliet. She goes to Sawyer's shelter and walks in.

Sawyer says, "What? My doorbell busted again?"

Kate gets on top of him and says, "Shut up and don't talk." She kisses him.
He looks at her. "You crying?"

"I said shut up."
