- Think Elizabeth Arden and paint your front door red or any other bold color you like. Front doors usually coordinate with the exterior paint color, but that is not necessary. Choose paint that will stand up to the elements and the normal wear and tear front doors must withstand. Stencil designs on your door. Geometric shapes, flowers, leaves or vines are good options for stenciling. Remember to paint the door frame as well.
- Coordinate all of the hardware you use on your front door. Make sure that the door knob, deadbolt, hinges, knocker and peephole match or at least are in the same color family. Consider how easy it will be to clean your front door's hardware and keep it in working order before you install it.
- Add wreaths to your front door. Vary the wreaths according to the season or even holiday. A wreath made from autumn flowers and leaves works well in the fall. Making a wreath from pine cones lightly covered in faux snow looks great during the winter months. Create a wreath with colored eggs, bunnies and chicks for the Easter holiday.
