- 1). Raise the hood and reach behind the headlamp in question. Grasp the wiring harness plugged into the back of the headlamp and pull straight backward on it until it releases from the halogen bulb.
- 2). Grab the plastic retaining ring and turn it one-eighth-turn counterclockwise to release the halogen bulb. Slide the ring off the bulb and then remove the bulb by hand.
- 3). Insert the new bulb and reinstall the retaining ring in reverse of removal. Never touch the glass of the replacement bulb with your bare skin. Human skin contains natural oils which transfer to the glass. When you turn the headlamp on, these oils superheat and fracture the glass, burning out the new bulb instantly.
- 4). Plug the wiring harness into the new bulb and turn the headlights on to test them before closing the hood.
