- 1). Open the hood and disconnect the negative (black) battery cable from the battery.
- 2). Locate the starter. It is at the back of the engine bay, on the passenger's side.
- 3). Unscrew the two 14mm bolts on the starter with a socket wrench.
- 4). Pull the starter to the right and then disconnect the two wires from the back of the starter by pulling them off.
- 5). Remove the old starter and attach the wires to the back of the new starter by sliding them in place. Place them in the same position they were in on the old starter.
- 6). Place the new starter into the appropriate position and then bolt it into place using a socket wrench and the two 14mm bolts you removed earlier.
- 7). Reattach the negative (black) battery cable to the battery terminal and close the hood.
